Contemporary Soft Tissue Grafting for Implant Reconstruction

I heard about the Pikos Institute from a friend. He said he did it and learned a whole lot from it. I'm at the beginning of my career and I can't wait to go back Monday and start implementing some of the suture techniques for sock grafts. A lot of the procedures are a little bit more advanced in what I've been doing, but I feel like I have the confidence and the education I need to start implementing them. Dr. Pikos himself has been very approachable and very helpful. If you're on the fence about doing it, I'd say do it now because you're going to want to do it at some point in the future. And so the quicker you do it, the quicker you can get your return on investment, and the quicker you can start giving this great service to your patients.

This was my first time at the Picos Institute and it was a great experience. I expected to get a lot of training from Dr. Pikos, but I also got a lot of help from other specialists that were here, such as Dr. David Lee Hill, Dr. Richard Myron, and Dr. Hussein Basma. So it was more of like a team approach that was dedicated to an awesome clinical experience, and I felt like it was just the gold standard of CE courses. So we had an integrative hands-on session that made me feel like I was at the sim lab back in dental school. And overall, just a great experience.

I was looking to obtain more information about grafting techniques and really started to expand my skillset on grafting for implant placements, and I got a ton out of it. Learned about what to do, what not to do about block grafts, about titanium meshwork, things I was looking to expand on, and I got that from this course for sure. I would say get a good foundation in terms of placing implants and when you need more bone. And then this course will really let you take off and learn about when you may want to refer, when you may want to take on a harder case and get that a lot out of it.
