Dr. Philip J. Hedger

Dr. Philip J. Hedger was born in St. Petersburg, Florida and grew up in Palm Harbor, Florida. In Gainesville, he attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate studies in Nutrition and received his dental doctorate from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. There he was elected by his classmates to serve as Class President for all four years of dental school. Dr. Hedger then completed an Advanced Prosthodontics Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry, furthering his surgical and restorative skills.

Since 2016, Dr. Hedger has served as the resident Prosthodontist of Coastal Jaw Surgery, home of Same Day Teeth.  He specializes in treating dental and facial issues that involve restoring missing teeth, being highly trained in dental function, cosmetics, implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, and digital dentistry. Dr. Hedger also serves as a faculty member of the Pikos Institute, where he teaches implant prosthodontics with focus on full arch fixed implant diagnostics, treatment planning, and digital dentistry. Dr. Hedger maintains an active involvement within the local dental community, serving on committees and providing educational lectures to dentists and hygienists in the Greater Tampa Bay Area through Coastal Jaw Surgery’s Pinnacle and Hygiene Study Club, a branch of the Seattle Study Club.  

Dr. Hedger is also very involved within the local community and church, serving as a small group leader, youth group leader, and first-time family leader at Generations Christian Church in Trinity, Florida. He lives with his wife Stacy (his high-school sweetheart) and their four daughters in Odessa, Florida. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends and building large holiday props and displays for the community to enjoy. To Dr. Hedger, life is about Joy. He often says, "A smile is the best thing you can wear!" It is his goal to make people smile and he enjoys teaching colleagues how to do the same, so they too can learn how to change lives by transforming smiles with implant dentistry.
